In the heart of the Berry area, Sancerre is the flagship of the wines of the Valley of Loire. The vineyard spreads over 15 communes, that is to say 2700 hectares which represents 80% of Sauvignon and 20% of Pinot noir grape variety. The soil is made up of three types of grounds, the “terres blanches” (white earth), the “caillottes” (very calcareous earth) and the clay-siliceous soils. Thanks to the grapes coming from all these villages and all these types of soils, we realize superb blendings.

The history begins in 1963, when some vine growers joined forces to face up the economic difficulties of the time. They are then a handful of men who create a cooperative cellar in the heart of the vineyard in the city of Sancerre.

As the years go by, it increased and remains the only cooperative of the appellation. This one is in line with the wine-growing cultivation, a dynamic tool for the vine growers and which draws on its strength by placing the man as the driving force behind these strategies. It helps having a bigger control of the activity process as a whole, from the production stage to the marketing one.

Today, export represents 60% of our sales. Our firm that includes about a hundred vine growers, develops these vintage wines of Sancerre served on the tables all over the world. The Cave des Vins de Sancerre (Sancerre Wines Cellar) is an excellent and essential window of the Sancerre territory.
